My favorite sociologist
Within the field of sociology, one of the people who I
admire the most is Professor María Emilia Tijoux, from whom I had the pleasure
of receiving classes in my second year of university, where I was not only able
to obtain technical knowledge of the discipline, I was also able
to relate more closely to his speciality.
María Emilia Tijoux Merino was born on September 9, 1949. She is an outstanding academic, sociologist, graduated in social sciences, coordinator of the sociology of the body and emotions research nucleus. As well as professor and head of International Relations at the Department of Sociology at the University of Chile. In recent years, her research has been focused on the study of migration and racism, also the sociology of the body and social domination.
Personally, and because I openly declare myself
anti-patriarchal, anti-fascist, anti-racist, and contrary to any ideology,
institution or individual that violates individual rights and liberations, I am
very interested in studying topics related to Professor Tijoux's work, as well
as in receiving your guide for the development of my thesis.
